To be clear, Youngkin and RFK Jr. chickened out of coming to Fredericksburg because they got word that the people here weren't having any of it, and a whole lot of students were planning a walkout when the MAGAs showed up. The faculty and staff at James Monroe had been told that Youngkin and the Wormbrain were coming--not Cheryl Hines, but what in the world has come over her?--and to be prepared. They were. The cowards slunk off to Louisa instead.
If that makes you feel better. I am sure that the popular Governor of Virginia and the easily appointed Secretary of HHS were scared of a protest of 10 people.
And what were they protesting? The visit was to celebrate something proposed and passed by Democrats.
So local Dems were protesting local Democrat policy???
Quite a strain for you to be so disingenuous and snarky, I'm sure, but do appreciate the effort. That "easily appointed Secretary of HHS" now wants us to let the bird flu run its course in a survival of the fittest approach to pandemic control. Celebrate him all you want. And I'm sure Youngkin will be able to create good mid-income jobs for all the DOGE-fired federal workers who live in Virginia, a great many of them in our district, and a number of whom are our friends and neighbors. You can have him, too.
