There’s been an uptick in reports of a recent scam, and there’s a new twist. The Rappahannock Electric Cooperative says a scammer has been showing up at people’s homes or businesses asking to read electric meters. But the person is not an REC employee.

Accidental Release of Mineral Oil Caused Last Month’s “Do Not Use” Water Advisory in Orange County

The “catastrophic failure” of a raw water pump at the Rapidan Service Authority’s intake from the Rapidan River led to the “objectionable odor” that resulted in parts of Orange County being warned not to use the water for about a week last month.
