There’s nothing easy about teaching. And there’s nothing easy about selecting one above all others as the best of the best.
Northern Virginia Magazine has done that work, however, and named Jennifer McCall as the 2023 Teacher of the Year.
“Parents and students told us about so many outstanding educators, like Ms. McCall,” said Northern Virginia Magazine editor Amy Ayres. “It was incredibly heartwarming to hear how much these teachers care about and inspire our children,”
“Quitting is not an option,” McCall said when interviewed as one of 10 finalists for the prestigious award that recognizes extraordinary educators. “My goal, and pride, is to watch my students walk across the stage and graduate.”
The award was presented today at 1 pm during a pep rally at NSHS. McCall receives a check for $10,000 as this year’s winner.
