What do you see as the greatest opportunities and threats to economic growth in the Fredericksburg area?
The George Washington Regional Commission wants to know, and invites the public to provide input via a survey, which will be open through September 15.
GWRC, supported by a granta from the U.S. Economic Development Administration, is working on a comprehensive economic development strategy for Planning District 16—the region that includes Fredericksburg City and Stafford, Spotsylvania, Caroline, and King George counties.
According to a press release from GWRC, the survey is “an important component of the comprehensive community engagement process.” It’s open to residents, business owners, and landowners, as well as anyone who visits the region for work or entertainment or who travels through the region.
The survey is being administered by GWRC’s consultant, RKG Associates, Inc. of Alexandria, Virginia.
“Responses received will be used to inform the plan update, be interpreted as a community report, and confirm/refine the vision for economic development,” the press release states. “All answers provided will be held confidential and only the aggregated findings will be presented.”
