Local governments routinely ignore rules related to human resources so it is quite rich to see them weasel out of a FOIA request by claiming they would be in noncompliance with such rules. They are quite confident they will not held to account, though. Lawsuits are expensive after all. Annual audits of financial assets are mandated by law, but there is no corresponding requirement to audit how human assets are treated. The only potential for accountability is for elected officials to insist on transparency but they rarely want to bother. So here we are. Good luck with this effort to uncover misconduct in King George.
