Indeed, thank you very much for the detail and links. It begs the question, though: what is a better alternative for those seeking supplemental (more than the basic)?

Thanks for the question. With Medicare for All, if it’s medically necessary, it’s covered, ie, 100% paid for without any additional out of pocket expenses. So no need for any additional insurance. Contributions are based mostly on income, so it’s more affordable than an arbitrary monthly premium required by private insurance.
