The underlying purpose of AI is to allow wealthy to access skill, while removing from the skilled the ability to access wealth.

Curious how much money the data center industry would have to give the average person to write this flaming pile of garbage.

In some aspects a pretty good piece notwithstanding Sue's comment.

The universal "we" are the drivers of the data center requirement. But there's a little more to it that must be said. Just look at the Netflix example. Reed Hastings' net worth is estimated at between $5.1 and $6.6 Billion (answer from AI hosted in a data center) and that number goes up with every streaming hour. Netflix and Reed Hastings have addicted us to streaming (yes, it takes them and us to make that relationship work) and we have buckled ourselves in for that ride along with rides on the Prime, Apple, HBO, Paramount, Hulu trolleys; all driven by billionaires. We make them richer, we dumb ourselves down (idiot box is still a good descriptor), data centers proliferate, our natural resources diminish, and our environment degrades. We are all complicit, including yours truly. The combination of ignorance, habituation, and greed is likely to drive the species to extinction. We're not as smart as we look.

oh well, another DATA CENTER schill piece without the 'FXBG Advance' disclosure statement: 'OPINION: The Problem IS Data Centers, and Marty Davis' Poor Understanding' that taking money from the industry's DATA CENTER boys, as well as having Charlie Payne, the regional DATA CENTER attorney and Kevin Hughes, the DATA CENTER Stack Infrastructure developer for the 8-12 DATA CENTERS out at 'Celebrate Virginia' (near Fred Nats ballpark and surrounding apts for marginalized children and their families) on some sort of a 'FXBG Advance' advisory board IS a conflict of interest.

Please, just put the disclosure statement on any 'FXBG Advance' article re: DATA CENTERS.

Well stated. Follow the money.

Oh, and correctly spell the surname of the senator from Vermont.
