The agenda for Tuesday’s Spotsylvania County Board of Supervisors’ meeting includes 31 items on the consent agenda, the county administrator report, and four public hearings.
Consent Agenda
The lengthy list of items includes appointments to several committees, approval of contracts, and a projected transfer of funds to the school system from the state in excess of $8 million.
County Administrator’s Report
The report focuses on vacancies or upcoming vacancies on county boards and commissions, regular update highlights, summer events, the Comprehensive Plan, summer feeding program, and other issues.
Public Hearings
Rezoning Request: The applicant requests a rezoning of a parcel consisting of approximately 5.40 acres, from Residential 1 (R-1) to Planned Development Housing 16 (PDH-16), for the development of 80 age-restricted multifamily units. The parcel is addressed as 6425 Harrison Road and is located on Harrison Road (Route 620), approximately 302 feet east of Cherry Road (Route 706). The parcel is
located in the Primary Development Boundary and the Primary Highway Corridor Overlay District. The property is designated for Low Density Residential Use on the Future Land Use Map of the Comprehensive Plan. Tax parcel 22-6-A. Courtland Voting District.Cole Hill Telecom Tower: The applicant requests a special use permit for a 195-foot monopole wireless telecommunications tower with an overall height of 199 feet, on an approximately 61.99-acre parcel zoned Agricultural 3 (A-3) District. The property, addressed as 4420 Partlow Road (Route 738), is just east of the split off with Edenton Road (Route 657) and approximately 1,000 feet southwest from
the intersection with Mandy Lane. The proposed location is in the northeastern portion of the parcel. The property is located outside of the Primary Development Boundary and is designated as Agricultural and Forestal on the Future Land Use Map of the Comprehensive Plan. Tax Parcel 81-A-28. Rappahannock Electric Cooperative currently provides electric service along North Roxbury Mill Rd. Rappahannock Electric Cooperative proposes to extend their facilities onto county-owned property to serve the Thornburg Booster Station.
