The search for a new Spotsylvania school superintendent will kick off officially next week.
The division today announced a public engagement process that includes four upcoming community forums plus an online survey.
“Our goal is to identify a leader who will lead with a vision and strive for excellence. This is a critical decision for the division, and the Board is committed to hearing from the community,” said Lorita Daniels, School Board Chair.
The School Board hopes the public engagement process will “build community understanding and support for the search.”
The search firm BWP and Associates will conduct forums at four different locations across the county next week.
Forums will be held at Post Oak Middle School and at Mount Hope Baptist Church on Tuesday, April 16, and at Cedar Forest Elementary School and Chancellor High School on Wednesday, April 17. All events will start at 6 p.m.
The online survey will open on April 15 and be available through April 28.
In addition to the survey and community forums, the search firm will conduct focus groups with a variety of stakeholders.
The information gathered through the community engagement process will help BWP develop a draft profile of desired leadership characteristics for presentation to the School Board.
