Pipes aren’t sexy therefore easy to defer.

Pipes….Bridges….Rails….HVAC systems….

People have to start understanding these things (infrastructure) are essential and money needs to be used to maintain them or else something catastrophic will happen down the line.

And how much deferment is affecting educator and student health? Deferring HVAC systems causes more damage than simply being too hot or too cold at school. How many schools have lead pipes running water to fountains?

Yes, thank god no one was in the building at the time. But whose parent or child won’t be so lucky next time?

People balk at the cost without considering much about how much more it will cost to defer a project. Not only does the district have to fix a pipe - they have to pay to have water removed and who knows what else.

I’d rather have my tax money used wisely, and that involves not deferring projects like this, thanks.

Funding public schools isn’t just about books and paying teachers what they’re worth. It’s making sure the structure everyone is in is safe.
