Interesting. I wonder whose stats those are. Yes, the stats are lower. That happened when the DC government redefined felonies as misdemeanors and the DA's plea-bargained felonies down to J-walking; then the cops say, "What's the use?" and stop arresting the criminals, as the people take the same attitude and stop reporting the crimes.
It seems strange that the stats don't agree with the people on the streets of DC, who will tell you the stats are garbage.
