MEETING PREVIEW: Fredericksburg City Council
The City Council's organizational meeting will make three appointments, set the calendar for the year, and elect a vice-mayor.

The organizational meeting of the Fredericksburg City Council for 2026 is largely ceremonial.
Four members will be sworn in for four-year terms. Matthew Rowe (Ward 1) and Joy Crump (Ward 2) are both first-time Council members. Susanna Finn (Ward 3) was appointed early in 2024 to replace Tim Duffy; this is the first time she will be sworn in as an elected member. Charlie Frye, Jr., (Ward 4) is a long-serving member who was re-elected in November.
Following this, the Council will:
Elect a vice-mayor
Make the following appointments:
City Attorney
Clerk of Council
Deputy Clerk of Council
