Could the Advance explain the underlying issues in this argument? Is it a question of the validity of grandfather clauses in determining whether an existing use or older legal status, which conflicts with new regulations, is still valid? If time erodes zoning validity, how much time does it?
If the neighborhood coalition has its way, would that undermine the use, say, of alleyways in the older part of the city that have been taken over by neighboring houses?
Try the entire 1300 block of Buckner Street. Now closed off to thru traffic between Stafford Ave and Augustine Ave because it's been taken over by the Catholic church. How did the city lose it? What can be done to re-instate the plat?
Poorly planned. Turn it down and move on. Not good for the city or those near it.
